Gunung Keriang

Keriang Hill located at Alor Setar Kedah, is famous with its production of crystal.
Ready with sufficient water, camera, cap and nasi lemak, we started the Keriang Hill hiking (there are a lot of mosquitoes, shall bring insect repellent next time).

There are two hiking trails for two different peak. May be its weekdays afternoon, we not seeing other hiker except three of us and monkeys...

The first trail located within the recreation park, and the journey took about 30minutes only. The entire hill is consists of hard rock and many caves can be found here.

The trail is not difficult to walk, but have to be very careful because the rock is hard and a lot of deep hole... not like Broga Hill, this time must wear spot shore.

There is a small resting roof on top of the hill, where you can see the nice view of padi fields...

After coming down from the first trail, we took some time to find out the entrance of the second trail, been hidden behind the Islamic graves.

The second trek is even more challenging, and took about 1 hour to reach the peak, which is much more higher than the first peak.

The sign board nearly covered by the plants.

Finally, we reached the top, and we spend about 1 hour here to enjoy the beautiful scenery, still no other hiker come up...

Penang - The Food Paradise

As we know, Penang is famous with its local food, which is delicious, tasty and cheap.
However, there are too many of choices and hawker stall which may have been too commercialize or tourism hot spot, and thus, deviated the quality of truly Penang food. Hence, I will introduce some nice and cheap Penang food that still not too crowded...my favorite!
Let's start from the mainland...

1. Duck egg fried Kuay Teow.
Kuay Teow fried with charcoal...making the taste denser...add with duck egg and fresh bloody "ham" (kind of shell)...this is the famous supper choice at Bukit Mertajam.

Location: Jalan Kulim, Bukit Mertajam.
Price: Rm2.50 + Rm1.00 (addition duck egg)

The boss is busy flying...
While other workers hiding from my camera shoot...
2. Sungai Rambai Curry Mee
I prefer mee and beehoon mix because beehoon can adsorb the curry soup. A spoon full of mee, beehoon, curry, and other side ingredients, will make you hot in the oven and excited...

Location: Sungai Rambai Hawker Centre
Price: Rm3.00

3. Alma Sou Mian
If you don't like spicy nor fried food, this sou mian perhaps cherish your appetite...

Location: Taman Alma, Bukit Mertajam.
Price: RM3
Huh, very full already...

Port Dickson and Eagle Ranch Resort

22 September 2009 First time visit -- Port Dickson.
Though, this is quite a spontaneous decision to PD.
After seeing sunset on Broga Hill and dinner, we called out a few hotels, compared the rate and service, then we go...

Reservation made at 8.55pm and check-in at 9.35pm.
With no earlier study made, it was an impressive stay in Eagle Ranch Resort.

Check-in, "claimed" the welcome drink with voucher, we walk to our room called Teepee.
Obviously the theme of the whole resort is from the Red Indian?
Actually, all these photos were took on the next day after a good sleep and complementary breakfast...
The design of the building is very interesting...and I love those woody thingy...

Teepee, where we stay...
RM113.85 nett
Facilitated with air-conditional, heater shower, and most interesting part is the half-roof covered bathroom!! which you can look up at the sky while bathing!!
I do not sure whether every Teepee is ready with this kind of special bathroom??
Other kind of room that available are Log Cabin, Paddock Chalet, Kampung House and etc...
Kampung House
RM170++ per night (Sun-Thu excluding public holiday)
Bandwagon
RM130++ (Sun-Thu excluding public holiday)
The only bad thing is the beach is too far away...
We did attempt to get to the beach but fail...we have to walk through a narrow trail along bushes...attacked by hundreds of mosquito!! so we turned back to the resort swimming pool...
